Neuromuscular control, of our of body movements, is essential for effective movement patterns, optimal performance, and injury prevention. Regrettably, the education and services offered by physical therapists are often sought only after issues like movement dysfunctions, pain, or injuries arise.
Why is this the case?
In my years of clinical practice as a Physical Therapist, focusing on Sports and Orthopedic rehabilitation, I've recognized the crucial importance of injury prevention. Gaining and maintaining efficient movement through kinematical awareness is essential for optimal performance. By prioritizing these principles, we can enhance overall well-being and reduce the risk of injuries. Let's work together to build a foundation for sustainable movement and athletic success.
Movement is complex and can often be challenging, and our bodies are remarkable at finding compensatory strategies to complete tasks. This leads me to several questions: Do you think about your movements? What do you pay attention to? Are you aware of what should be occurring? Can you sense your muscles engaging? Do you know which muscles are meant to be active?
